Rabbi Ariel Baal Lev arrived in Queens with the vision to open a Beit Midrash aimed at building Bnei Torah. This vision quickly materialized, and Milhamta Shel Torah was born. What started as a small group of nightly learners blossomed into a flourishing community. Today, this vision supports a community of one hundred members who engage in daily prayer and study, alongside a growing Kollel of 14 Avreichim.
Several years later, recognizing a gap in the community, Rabbi Baal Lev founded a boys' Yeshiva to instill a unique spark of Torah. Yeshivat Bnei Torah aims to cultivate true Sephardic Bnei Torah who adhere to the teachings of our Hachamim in Gemara and Halacha, while also providing a high-level secular education to prepare these boys for future success. Currently, the Yeshiva educates over 60 students and is looking to expand; however, it is constrained by limited space.
Building on the success of the community, the Kollel, and the Boys Yeshiva, Rabbi Baal Lev pursued the establishment of a girls' school dedicated to providing top-notch Hinuch for Bnot Yaakov. He worked tirelessly to open "Bnot Tamara," marking another milestone. This endeavor became a reality after receiving encouragement from several Gedolei Yisrael, including Harav Elya Ber Wachtfogel, Harav Meir Stern, Hacham Yosef Raful, Rabbi Yaakov Hillel, Harav Malkiel Kotler, and Harav Kamenetsky, who supported the Rosh Yeshiva's vision for this successful institution.
